Default D16Z6

can someone give me an idea on what a good price would be gor a good D16Z6 swap? Im looking to possibly put one into a cx hatch. Im on a pretty tight budget so Im looking for the best bang for the buck. Yeah, a B16A is possible, but I've been hearing that going from hydro to cable is a hassle, and I can't afford the A2 right now..any thoughts? Thanks everyone!

around 700 - 1200 dollars depending upon mileage and mods, ie LSD, clutch, cams, etc...

i dont know what kinda bartering or haggling u guys can pull off, but i picked up my d16z6 for $250.........had 50k on it, and came off an automatic - so it wasnt ragged. Ask around at local performance shops.......everybody is crazed about putting B and H series engines in their civics and abandoning the D series.... make a friends at one the shops and ask them to keep an eye out for an EX or something doing a swap...when one comes in, u can see the car its coming out of and everything.....not some junkyard salvage.

hope that helps

250 is real good for just the engine. just for the record, I was talking about a complete swap. Engine, transmission, ECU, drive axles, etc... No one in their right mind would pay 1200 bucks for a D16 longblock.

around 1200 - 2200 depending upon mileage and mods.
that is a totally incorrect statment
a first gen b16 is going to run you about 12-1500$ BUT it is NOT a straight swap into your car. your gonna spend alot of money to get it to work (injectors, distributor, harness, cable to hydro clutch conversion etc etc) the total cost of this is about as much as a second gen b16

a second gen b16 will DROP into your car. just remove old engine. put this in and run a couple wires. this one goes for about 2300-2500 for the full swap.

550 eh? interesting...thanks for the ideas guys. Im on a pretty tight budget so any sort of B16 might be a long shot...we'll see, chances are I'll have to go SOHC or I'll have to wait longer

Theres a complete d16z6 swap on sohfast.com for 1500. You could find a longblock and trans at a yard for ~500-1000 dollars though.
