Default 96-98 Bumper Moldings on a 99-00 Civic?

So I really like the 99-00 front bumper because of the vents on either side, and I really like the 96-98 (SIR) front and rear bumpers because of the moldings on sides.

So has anyone taken the time to combine the two? Does it look to busy.
Anyone wanna do a photochop of the two together for me?

For example here is a pretty picture of the moldings on a 96-98

And a 99-00 niceness for their front bumper.

(no it is unlikely I would ever attempt to do this frankensteining, I just wanna know)

I've actually considered this option before, if nothing else, it would be a cool way to stand out from the crowd maybe...

I'm working on a chop...

IMO there would be too much going on at the corners of the bumper. The 96-98 looks good with moldings because the area below it is featureless. With the small scoops on the 99-00, moldings would look out of place. Just my .02.

Original:

Chopped with paint matched mouldings...

Chopped with black mouldings, and other black trim as well...

I think it looks good, it would probably look better without the fogs...

Umm, yeah that actually looks really good in my opinion.
My car is a '00 hatch and I quite like the "panda" look of black trim, windows etc.

Thanks for the chop

That one wit hthe "real" mouldings looks kinda goofy... Are those stick ons, adheseheve held, as opposed to being set into the bumper?

I believe the only way they would look decent is if you actually inset the moldings into the bumper, not just stick them on top. so they would look exactly like si-r

Agreed, being just stuck on and not inset would look like ***. Esspecially if they started to peel up!

Yup...

BTW to the people who say mouldings suck, the ydo for the most part... I agree. BUT would'nt you all agree that it would be nice to have something subtle (and pretty uncommon) like these to stand apart from the 857325672569046 other hatchbacks?
