Default energy suspension bushings

i would like to know what these do. i read something in a magazine where they got the energy bushings for all the engine/tranny mounts but they just said that it improved acceleration. i dont understand what they do, so if someone could let me know i would appreciate it. the people also used an ingals engine torque damper if that is actually whats making it accelerate faster. thanx
