Best Intake Manifold for 91 CRX SI?
Any opinions? Head an block will be built for all motor. Car will have a obd0 to obd1 conversion done to it. The motor came with out a manifold.

a newer d16y8 manifold. i have d16z6 and have been told several times that the y8 manifold was the best. i have one layin around of a 2000 d16y8 but i went wit the skunk 2 instead.
d16y8 manifold, head, injectors, valve cover= 4 sale $$$$$$$$$$$$
apexi n1 catback exhuast 2 1/4 for 92-95 hatch= 4 sale $$$$$$$$$$$$$

No, I told the op that.
For an all motor sohc, itbs is the way to go. If you want to keep it basic, use a ported S2 manifold.

Explain why then. Itbs are too often just yelled out like a feasblie or good option and in some cases its good but most often itbs are not a good investment.
Also if you really thought ITBS are the way to go you'd back your reasoning up from the get go.
Also how can you even begin to say ITBS stock s2 etc would be good you know nothing on his planned build up

He cleary says he wants to build an all motor sohc. You don't have to know every little detail of the build to kknow the basics of what an all motor setup is. You seem very mad with life.

Double wrong to that.
Intake manifolds are a important choice when building a motor, stuffing ITBS on a stock setup will suck flat out.
Now if the motor is going to be living past 5K possibly its a good idea, but also many sheet metal manifold can be custom made albiet it at a very high price for your setup.
Sure you might just slap on X manifold on Y setup and gain some power, but it might not be as much as you should gain.. or possibly lose mid low.
You really do need to have a frim plan on everything and know what works together to pick parts.
So asking him what his motor will be like is not only a good idea but needed to give any info other then randomly shouting out a part that may or may not work for him.

I think you should be focusing all this energy on the fact that the OP stated he plans on doing an obd0 to obd2 conversion. That puzzles me.</TD></TR></TABLE>
I never said that re read my post I said Live there, as in spend most of its time in that range, like a real race car, MUCH unlike a street car.
Please don't try to dodge this bullet esp you being the one to apply the fire arm to your head and pull the trigger.
You have no idea what he means by built it could be a very light setup making 130ish or a wild 1.9L a6 doing over 230 WHP.
Telling him to stuff ITBS was poor advice.
If you do want to bring up the obd2 point I do agree its kinda weird. but his motor he may do as he pleases.

You definetly said living past. Which I took as you implying that he would have a stock motor not reving more than 5k.
By built, which he said, I assumed he meant built. As in, high compression and large over-bore. Which is why I suggested what I suggested which would be the right suggestion for the most power all around.
Lets let him define his build plans, then argue.

A stock d15b1 will live past, 5K don't bother trying to pretend you took it that way.
Slapping together stock parts is still building a motor isn't it
Exactly you should have waited so we agree

Its obd1 not 2 sorry. The car will be used for a road corse mild build. Port work, mild cam. slightly higher comp pistons. Nothing crazy. 130whp ssounds about right.

If that's all your shooting for, then an IM is probably going to more harm than good.
