Buddy Club Cams Spec 5 vs Spec 6
I just happen to see another all motor B20 with Buddy Club Spec 5 dynoed 250+whp. So went to check the buddy club site for more details and found that there is another newer Spec 6.
Buddy Club Spec 5
Intake Duration 312' Lift 12.8mm
Exhaust Duration 306' Lift 11.8mm
Buddy Club Spec 6
Intake Duration 319' Lift 11.8mm
Exhaust Duration 307' Lift 11.85mm
There is not much info on the Spec 6 though.
What do you think and what could the diferences of both of these cams cause spec 5 runs higher lift while spec 6 runs longer duration?? What could be the main advantage of a longer duration with one that is shorter duration but higher lift??
Is the newer Spec 6 going to make more peak power compared to Spec 5??

Clean rice is riding Rockets dick to the moon.
As for the Spec 6, it appears to be a milder cam then the spec 5. I think Buddy clubs intent was to provide a more "all around" cam. A cam that isn't as punishing to your valve train and provides a good idle.

and it was funny. anyway, less lift and more duration doesn't equate into less power. advertised duration is misleading.

Are you sure it's not just a typo, and that intake lift should be 12.8mm just as the spec 5? That makes more sense to me.

Ya, i was thinking the same too and worried that it might be wrong info. I got the specs of lift and duration from the Buddy Club website. So i was also wondering if it was a misprint.
If not a mis-print, then why would Buddy Club come out with a less lift and more duration profile?? Thats why the post here to find out what the general advantage and set back of Spec 6 over Spec 5.
Anyone?

Your an idiot.
If you had an understanding of cams you would be inclined to say that he 6 is hotter than the 5.

my opionion is, that spec 6 might increase more hp with less lift and with longer duration, say what if spec 6 give you 15hp over spec 5 would you be happy with it. or say the different between the two was .3mm lift.
that is just example.
that is just example.
