Coolant Pressure, Cold Start
Does anyone know if the cooling system pressure has anything to do with cold start. My problem was my cars ran and drove fine all year. But just about a month ago my radiator cracked. So i loosened the cap so it wouldnt build pressure till I could fix it or get another one. Well the whole time it was loose I had cold start problems where the car would just crank and crank and crank then finally catch when I was giving up, then would sputter up to an idle and be fine. Only when cold. Then I fixed the radiator with epoxy and Put cap back on tight and it seems my car starts better now any suggestions. Is this normal or is i just coincidence Thanks for your comments in advance
Yeah your right its 49 degrees this morning and my car did it again. Im so sick of this problem. I need to find out whats wrong Im a Nissan tech and I cant believe I might have to put my car in the shop.
plastics radiator crack with age and miles and abuse it has seen, you cooling system works with pressure so expoxy is not gonna fix it a new radiator is gonna fix it......
ive seen cars go 14 yrs on a oem radiator and seen brand new cars needing a new one with just 5k some times less
