I recently bought a 2001 Civic LX with 99,000 miles on it. The wiper motor was bad so I went out and bought a new one. I put the new one in and now when I go to turn on my wipers they are way off. If I put the arms where they should be they get stuck on the black plastic piece below the windshield. If I put the arms up a little bit they work but then they are in my way when I drive.

My question is - Is there a way to reset them? Or am I doing something wrong?

When I turn the wiper on they go Down 3 inches, Up 12 inches and then down like 10 inches and then get stuck on the black plastic piece. Any help would be awesome! Thanks everyone!

 

I think i know what you mean here...

Try popping your wiper arms off the splined spindles, set the motor to the rest position and, then re-fit the arms in the position you want them to be in when resting at the base of the screen.
