civic not starting help!!!
i checked my battery and alternator they seem to be good and running, also my starter seems to be working well however it takes me about 1 -2 minutes to get my car engine started, can this be due to the cold weather and is this a bad sign for my car?
Check your timing and fuel supply.
Timing:
- As previous poster suggested, check the plugs, plug wires, distributor cap and rotor. Replace as necessary.
- Grab a timing light and check for timing and spark. If a timing light isn't available, remove 1 of the plug wire(spark plug side), stick a screwdriver into it and ground the screw driver to the chasis. Have someone crank the car, you should be able to see a few sparks. If not, your dizzy might be bad. Bring it to autozone, they'll check it for free.
Fuel Supply:
-Check if the fuel pump is priming when you turn the key to the ON position. If its not, you either have a bad fuel pump or the main relay is crapping out.
-Check for fuel pressure. If low, replace with a good filter and recheck. if the pressure is still low, you either have a bad fuel pump or ur lines are clogged.
