Default spark plugs?

ok so i think i narrowed down the ticking/chirping sound. its coming from the block and it seems to be the spark plug. skipped the 30k maintence. So the possibilities of my spark plugs being all messed up and janky and carodid[sp] are high. Can a carodid spark plug do such a thing if it isnt firing?

Yea, if you havent changed your spark plugs then you should change them. And you might need new spark plug wires. The sound could be a loose spark plug wire or ripped wire.

Ehm, One minor problem with this statement. The D17 has Coil on Plug ignition system, which....means.... No spark plug wires.

ummm if you have a d17 engine like i assume u do since your in the em2 forum then 30k miles on the factory plugs is nothing...........its not even recommended to change them until like 100k ( i have 40k on mine and they still look brand new) ......if your plugs are fouled then thats not the problem thats a symptom meaning u have a problem elseware causing that to happen........

Sounds like you're lacking oil, if it's a constant tick.

a constant ticking sound while the car idling is the injectors firing. If it sounds like a real sloppy tick, then have the valves adjusted.
Chirping noises sound like a belt.
