bypass valve?
buying an aem cold air intake for my 4dr 92 civic, concidereing bypass valve cause i do not want water flowing into my engine, should i get bypass valve?? and does the valve decrease performance of the intake???
where do you live. the only way haveing a cai can mess up your motor is if the filter got submerged in water like a huge puddle. if it rains where you live alot the get it. and im sure it doesnt increase performance but then again its just an intake.

That's not true. I have personally ridden in a car when the engine hydrolocked with an AEM CAI, and the filter was not submerged at all - just very wet.

The bypass valve will reduce the power gain of a CAI (not like it's significant in the first place), so I don't think it's worth the money. I'd just get SRI piping and reuse my filter, if I was you. If you want a little extra performance on a dry day, then spend 10-15 minutes and switch the piping and filter.
