Picked up a classic bike yesterday...(56k will take a min or two...)
I've been looking for a classic bike for a while...did some research and ended up finding just what I wanted yesterday. 1973 Honda CB450 K6
Picked it up for $900 in good shape with 12,7xx miles. Not too shabby for a 34 year old bike. Have to do a little work to it such as, bleed the front brake, check the rear, repair the petcock (has a slight leak but can be fixed easily) and maybe an idle adjustment if needed. Carbs I think are ok for now, but if they need cleaning then I can do that too. I, as a lot of others do, really like the cafe styling so I plan to do a little of that. Some clubman bars, new tank and seat, powder coat a few things, probably change the exhaust a bit (w/ some powder coated pipes with an upturned muffler, although this stock exhaust sounds good IMO
So this will make a good winter project. Im very happy with the buy. Here are some pictures to show it off a bit.

Thanks for the comments. I really like it. and yes mods are in order. Does anyone know a good place to get tanks from? Im looking for a longer tank, but a little shorter (height wise) than this stock one. I think that airtech streamline place online has aluminum ones ( i think? ) but they are like 500 bones... maybe thats not too bad. What should I expect to pay for a new tank?

Ooo I looked at getting one of those, but didn't know how hard it would be to find parts if needed... How is it?
Finding parts is not hard at all. Basically, you find a BMW dealer, go to the parts counter, tell them what you need, then they give it to you and you give them a very reasonable amount of money. Selection of the shop is key—good ones will stock common parts back to 1955.
As for the bike, it's good. I ride it every day—primary transportation.

Looks well-kept, lots of old-school appeal. I'd rather have one of those than the '86 I have lying around somewhere.

Thanks for the comments.Went over it a little more last night and fixed a few little bugs. Have to go pick up 2 new spark plugs today and install them and adjust the clutch.
The 450 I guess is an underrated one from what I read. Don't know if it sold too well but now more people have been picking them up.
I already got new clubman bars for it and looking for some grips. Over the next month or so I plan to replace the stock airboxes with some new filters, maybe even some new carbs. ( Otherwise I will just clean out the old ones )
Then the exhaust is decent but I want to change that a little bit. So Ill have to dig around to see what can be dont with that.
I thought I was gonna get in over my head but actually these aren't too complicated. Everything is right in front of you and easy to access plus with it being 30 years old, no real computer stuff to deal with

Wow!! really good deal you got there, I've got it's like step cousin? a bit younger though. They're real fun bikes to ride, have fun with yours! It looks in really good shape too! wow, mine kinda looks good in pictures, but up close you can tell that it needs more in repairs than its' worth.
