Default Suggested wax & car cleaner?

Well, a friend of mines told me that the Simple Green Concentrate supposeably messes up your paint if it gets on it. (Not sure, I think he's bullshitting)

Anyways, I was wondering what kind of soap I should use to clean my car & what kind of wax should I use?

Meguiars NXT is the best wax from personal experience.

When I'm in the mood I'll do the 3 step Meguiars:
1. Meguiars Gold Class Paint Cleaner
2. Meguiars Gold Class Polish
3. Meguiars NXT Wax

It's a killer combo and provides excellent depth and shine!

Sweet. I'm looking for shine. Can I find these at a local smart & finals or a vons?

I appreciate the help guys I haven't used simple green in awhile. I use it for interior stains and such haha. I may use it to clean my engine bay.

http://www.meguiars.com/?liqui...h-Wax <-- Is that the wax?

I can't find the polish & or paint cleaner.

First off buy a Meguiar's clay bar kit and some 3m swirl/scratch mark remover. Along with some Meguiar's gold class wax. Along with 4-5 buffing pads and several microfiber cloths.

1) Claybar the car with the provided bar of clay, when the car is still wet. Use the provided quik detail as lubricant.
2) After the claybar is full of small crap, wash the car again. Dry it and buff the car thoroughly w/ the 3m stuff. Wipe the car clean w/ a microfiber cloth.
3) Repeat this process with the cleaner wax, then the Gold Class carnauba wax. You can also use a polish wax between these two, but it's not really necessary.

For about $40, you can get your paint looking like glass again.

Eagle 1 Nano Wax hands down. Ive used everything available at Advance Auto and this is by far the best. My car is a daily driver so I need strong wax that lasts after the beating it takes on the MD interstates everyday. It makes the car smooth as silk and really brings out the color. I wouldnt go back to anything else

Another vote for Meguiars here. I have the blue zymol and I'm not crazy about it at all...

bump!

Do I really need to claybar? This IS a brand new paint job. And it's just dirty from rain but I feel that I need to wax it so the paint won't get all beat up on me.

You shouldn't be claying or using any rubbing compound if the paint is brand new. Just a good coat of Meguiar's Carnauba Gold Class applied with microfiber should do the trick.

Dang, I went to kragens. I bought deep crystal system step1, step2, and step 3.

I also bought the Gold Class Liquid Wax & Gold Class Car Wash Shampoo & Conditioner.

Are those any good? I read the back it said deep crystal was for dark colored cars. (And my hatchback is phoenix yellow)

I got some microfiber cloth, and 100% cotton wiping pads for the wax. Spent nearly 54$ on these cleaning supplies but I hope it's worth it.
