2000 accord egine lags around 40 mph, trans has been replaced
Daughter has recently purchased a 2000 accord V6 with 53,000 mikes. Runs and looks great but when slowly accelerating (around 40mph) the engine lags. Dealer said it was a torque converter issue and replaced the trans. under 100,000 warranty. Still has problem. Dealer cleaned ERG and carb. but engine still shutters only when slowly accelerating around 40 mph.
Is this a carb. problem? A computer problem? A carbon build-up issue (remember 6 year old car with only 50K).
I am former Volvo service writer and can do most of the mech. work. I just need some good advice as to what issues you might feel would be the most productive to tackle first.

not likely egr thing unless you are getting code (you mentioned they clean egr)..most likely TQ coverter locking up. You can try cleaning the trottle body and maybe rum some fuel injector cleaner through it.
I am having the same issue on my 96 accord (very light throttle at 40 mph- engine stutter). Been trying to get some input on it as well. I'm not throwing any codes either. Hope someone has some insight..
the service bulletin #98-074 that I found under redneck dave's FAQ referrs to these syptoms in 1990-93 models as carbon build up in the EGR ports. Sure sounds like the same issue we are having with the later model accords
You dont have a carb problem since your 2000 Accord has fuel injection not a carb. You said the dealer cleaned the EGR but there is also a modification he should have done. Here is a service bulletin that applies to your 2000 Accord. http://www.driveaccord.net/for...=2479
I would take it back to the dealer and verify what he did and let him try to resolve the problem again.
Good Luck
