You should make a sheet metal spoiler while you are at it.

is the first pic a mud deflector? hahaha your avatar would suggest so. cool to be original, but i'd get a real offroad vehicle before you mess up what you have

(and i'm speaking from experience)

so it is a mud refecter?

Im in the process of making my sri having a heat box. Right now i choped up my old oem box. It lookings tacky as can be , but I just wanna get the idea before I got me out a new one with padding and sheet metal, and paint it flat black.

My goul is to make it as clean as possible.

I have no idea if this helps..haha since its more like a sound chamber, until i get the sheet metal.

I added that extra pipe to the end of the aem sri. Its a 3 in peice it helps the filter to be far away from the head. Aswell I took out the water cooling system out of my intake manifold(warning warm ups take up to 10 mins)

See i like your idea with the heat shield, Just buy a 3 in pipe to push the filter closer to the fender.
then Cut more room where the frame has that hole in the bottom. Then you should be picking up more cool air. Only real benifit is if you take out your cooling system out at the mani.

its a heat shield, it works extremely well, if you see the pic below it, I have a pipe running from the bottom of the car up to refresh the whole enclosed area with cooler air. It works comperable to a cold air intake. It also does keep out some dirt. And the things on the front are canards. Makes a huge difference around 80mph on the dirt.

Are you being sarcastic or serious about the intake thing? Around $40.

Ghetto-isted.

you can't just put a canard and expect it to work, the nismo, mugen, etc put their race car into wind tunnel to have it aero tuned.

a mud flop would work better to block off mud >

You could also raise it higher for your off-roading adventures...
