Default Headlights totally dead.. checked fuses too

ok last night I was troubleshooting my HID's.. me being a dumbass I didnt' covered the two connections to the h1's.. I couldn't figure out the prob so I started shaking the wires to try and see if there was a lose connection somewhere..

Anyway I think the two wires touched and both headlights went out.. during which I did hear a pop..

I tried putting halogens in and still won't work.. I looked under the dash they were ok.. and i looked at the main fuse under the hood.. it looked OK however there is some corrosion on it but I'd still like to kno if there are any other things I should look into..

You probably just fried a switch, are you sure you checked every single fuse on your car? Under the steering column and engine bay? You should always properly shield everything

well i don't know of any other fuses other than the ones i've checked.. the grounds i believe to be fine.. I could try shaking the wires around again but I'm seriously at a loss here... and I'll need to drive in the dark tomorrow.. =/

so in these situations does the relay get blown? and I was looking at my Haynes.. so the relay is located on the steering column?

All you really need to do is start from your HID wiring and go backtrace all your wires until you find the problem. Trial and error in electronics is the easiest way to find problems if you don't have instruments to check connectivity and livewires
