Default ONE DAY PAINT & BODY in Garden Grove (Harbor/Trask)

first of all, sorry if this is in the wrong section but i figured i'd get more feedback here since it is So Cal related than posting this in Apperance/Cosmetic. second, yes i did search and i didn't find anything pertaining to THIS particular branch. third, yes i did read up on the other threads about One Day Paint but i'm a firm believer that these places do vary depending on variables like painter skill, how much money you pay, and so on.

with that aside....................has anyone had any experience with the One Day Paint & Body in Garden Grove on Harbor/Trask? i stopped by about a week and half ago and i checked out some of the cars they were painting and it seemed pretty legit. they even were doing a Milano Red EH2 and it was looking pretty sweet. so any feedback regarding that particular location would be much appreciated.

please don't clog up this thread with comments regarding how "shitty One Day paint places are" or "you get what you pay for" because i already know that.

thanks.

It all depends on the prep work.

Yup all about prep man..

Also, paint always looks good for the first day week or month.

My friend had his done @ Earl Scheib on GG Blvd @ Beach.

It was under $400 bucks but. Its alright I guess.

Not a show stopper, but better than primer.

Also if you plan to do a silvery metalicy color you wouldnt be able to see the imperfections from 6ft +

Just prep her good and hope you get a skilled painter.

thanks guys, unfortunately i don't have the time and resources to be prepping the car myself...in between work and school i just can't do it. it's gonna be hard enough as it is to get around while the car is being worked on.

isn't it true that there are options of adding extra clear for a certain amount? wouldn't that help the quality of the work?

i also heard that even if it is a One Day or Maaco that if you take care of your car (i.e. - wax/clay) on a regular basis the paint stays looking legit?

Not a bad idea. There are plenty of ht members trying to make some cash on the side by doing this sorta thing. Good luck

Stage 1 2 and sometimes 3 are single stage paint jobs. Make sure you ask! Single stage will be cheap and ok but wont last that long! And yes pay someone to prep it for you.. Good idea!

all of their options are single stage...and their base + clear option runs for $1500.

Alright.. I'll be painting my friend's EG prolly this thursday.. he has alot of lil dents and waves.. I'll be painting it PPG OEM mercedes black and clear. Single stage paint aren't good, I hate working over em and they're cheap.. Depending on your color preference, price will vary.. Let me know if you're interested in a paint job.. It's not a backyard special either.

Depends on the color and how much body work is needed. I prefer less body work (ie door dings and other small lil dents are fine) so that the whole process takes within a week (painting the car only takes several hours in the booth). I'm located in LB.
