auto obd1 ecu with obd2 tranny?

would an auto p28 work with an obd2a auto tranny? i think the obd1 has the tcm separate and obd2 has the tcm integrated with the ecu, but can i just plug the obd1 tcm in my car?

Thats a good question, i ran my obd1 ecu with an auto obd0 tranny for a year nothing happened, but maybe that's another story.
