Not a Honda but All Motor related.
I finished up a 4-1 header for a guy's 1.8L DOHC Mazda Protege. He was running an aftermarket (supposedly the best piece available) Genie 4-2-1. I thought I may have gone too big on the tube size but was pleasantly surprised this weekend.

I'll be building a modded/new IM for him also to test along with a 4-2-1 header.

But don't 4-1 headers always make more power?

No, a well designed 4-2-1 can beat a 4-1 in the rpm ranges we are talking about, but I've seen 4-1s make more when the tune was terrible on the 4-2-1, which isn't the case in this test.

i guess your 4-2-1 sucks since it loses to your 4-1

Re: B series. My 4-2-1 lost to my 4-1 only 1 time. Probably because that tuner was inexperienced.

This was the first prototype and 4-1s are easier/cheaper to build.

so in general 4-1s are only better than 4-2-1s when the 4-2-1 is tuned horribly...? Or is this with SMSP ones.

thats what smsp told me. 4-1>4-2-1 when NOT tuned

hey sms guy,
check out VWVORTEX.com go to the 12V VR6 as well as the 24V VR6 and the R32 forum. there is not a SINGLE header available for any of those motors that makes power.
race-shop (joe) last time i checked was pushing low 12s which is hauling *** for a 12V vr6 in a mk3 and is using a stock manifold becuase there is nothing better than that available.
you said "genie" and they make a header for the VR6, but it makes less power than the stock manfold. its also about 500 bucks used. itd look like like a 6 primary tubed k24 header.

thats an understatement. those poor guys, including myself, have never ever ever had a decent intake manifold or exhuast manifold. got some great cams with schrick but thats about it. the VR6 is gods motor, but everything bolted to it SUCKS.

hit em up SMS guy. talk to billyvr6 and race shop joe on there as well as anthony dowd. the 12V vr6 is still an untapped platform, even for its age.

I have to disagree with that .Take a look at these to headers and tell me that.

They probably cost more because you buy your collectors. It would be alot cheaper if you made them yourself.Plus there is only one U bend per tube on your 4-2-1.

They cost more because there are 3 collectors and you only use one collector on your header pictured above.
