Caliper piston won't compress - HELP
I just finished replacing my rear rotors, and while trying to install my pads, I discovered I can't compress my caliper piston. It is completely off the car and the bleeder screw is removed. I am using a craftsman piston compressor, which as you can see is now bending. Please help before I break the tool...

the actual piston turns in like a screw you need the special tool from the parts house and turn it clockwise and the caliper should compress if it dont move the caliper is froze up and you need to get a new one

You do not need a special tool to turn it. A large screwdriver will work. Make sure that the "plus" is aligned vertically so that the pins on the inboard pads prevent the piston from rotating.

Thanks for all the quick responses. It is for a 98 ITR, and I was able to use a large screwdriver to turn it. I feel like such a retard after 10 minutes of muscling it, it collapsed in a quarter turn, lol.
Again, thanks.
Again, thanks.
Well, I put it all back together (new rotors and pads) over a week ago. Now I get this noise from the rear brakes. It sounds like a hum, and only makes the noise when I press the pedal down a certain amount. The sound is in frequency with the wheel speed like it only happens on one part of the rotor. I used OEM parts...
I did notice there were no outer shims on the pads. How important is it to tighten those rotor retaining screws the same?
Thanks again...
