seems as though he had pretty good form in the first picture but overly wide handle bars made have contributed to him tank slapping and ultimately the spill. while leveraqe is good (wider = leverage) to much can cause an imbalance inhandling and is slower to react to input. One additional aspect is that range of movement is very limited, causing more of the body to have to be used.
aww, is it just me or when he falls is he going like 3 mph? At anyrate i've learned not to catch mysefl with my hands

Is it popular in the cruiser world to use the rear as the usual brake. I read somewhere that many accidents were from rear brake use. I know most sportbikers don't even use their rear, so i'm guessing a lot of cruisers use the rear dominantly.

The dynamics are different on a cruiser because more of the riders weight is over the back tire. It's easier to lock up the rear on a sportbike and as a result most sportbikers don't use them.

Not really all that different....when you hit the brakes it puts the weight to the front of the bike, and when that happens, there is less wieght over the rear, which can help it to lock up....same thing that happens on a sport bike.
If you hit more rear than front (or only rear) it will not shift the weight to the front nearly as much. Regardless, there is more weight proportionally over the rear on a cruiser than on a sportbike.
