My friend has a 92 civic that when you stop suddenly(or come to a fast stop), it will stall. is there specific things that I should look for or to check?

It is a manual transmission also.


I can't seem to figure this one out so any help or starting point would be appreciated.

Is he/she pressing the clutch in?

 

id say to remember to put the clutch in...if you are putting it in..then i dunno

 

check the idle rpm. maybe its way to low and when he hits the brakes, the car stalls. does he brake in gear or not?

 

yea he pushes the clutch in, the person he bought it from said it did that also.

 

did you check the timeing belt may have skiped a tooth or to that will do it most likely it

 

it runs fine tho. great gas mileage and everything. it just stalls when u stop quickly
