i think bronze would look better than the whole blk on blk....just my opinion thou.
good setup would stick with the tire size and don't forget to get your $40 mail in rebate when you buy your tires.

The proper 15" size for your car is 195/55-15 or 205/50-15. Don't get anything smaller than those.

The Kumho Ecsta SPT is an excellent tire for the money. Very good on dry pavement, outstanding in the rain, lasts a long time, and the price is a bargain. Go for it! (And don't forget to send for your $40 rebate within 30 days of your purchase.)

And whatever you do, don't get those crappy BFG g-Force Sport tires! They're terrible!

black on black is tight with black gt3. Check mine:

15'' GT3. with 195/50/15. I would have gone with 205 but I got these on a great deal.

195/50-15 is the better size for a CRX. 205/50-15 and 195/55-15 are better sizes for an Integra.

Default Re: SupersonicBlueGSR doesn't have a clue when it comes to tires (SupersonicBlueGSR)

The BFG G-Force Sport is crap. Stop kidding yourself - the crappy G-Force Sport is nowhere near as good as the ES100, let alone the supersticky Falken Azenis RT-615. They're only about as good as other crappy tires, like the Dunlop FM901, Kumho Ecsta Supra 712, and Yokohama Parada Spec 2. (Not just my own opinion based on driving them, but also confirmed in Tire Rack testing.) Those crappy tires were about the only tires you could get for low prices back in the late 1990s. In late 2001, Yokohama introduced the ES100, which is WAY better than any of those crappy tires like the FM901, 712, or g-Force Sport. The ES100 really revolutionized the "budget performance tire" market by providing a much higher level of performance at a relatively low price. In the next few years, other manufacturers were losing a lot of sales to Yokohama and the ES100, which is why they were forced to develop and introduce tires that could compete with it in both price and performance - Dunlop with the Direzza DZ101, and Kumho with the Ecsta SPT. BFG has a nice tire whose performance keeps up with the ES100 and SPT, but it's their g-Force T/A KDW2 (which is more expensive than the ES100 and SPT). They only sell the crappy g-Force Sport because they need to have a cheap tire to sell.

:scratches head: Isn't it the numbers that the prospective buyer would be interested in?

I'm going to drop you a line asking why you think you know more than our resident tyre expert.

I dont think im smarter than the resident tire expert, but even sometimes the experts are wrong. And Im going to post the website that I found most helpful in my rebutle which have the numbers I was looking for: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/...=true

it appears that the BF-g-sports ranked 3rd overall and beat out the kumhos and yokos

The problem with that website is that you're looking at user survey results, instead of side-by-side comparison testing where they try out different tires on the same cars at the same place and time. The problem with user survey results is that they have a built-in bias; only people who buy a particular tire rate it, and they may not have tried other tires which are better. In fact, if a tire is really crappy, it is more likely to be bought by the same people over and over again, people who never buy any other tire to compare it against.

You can see a great example of this phenomenon by comparing the user survey results against the test results for the Yokohama ES100 and the Kumho Ecsta Supra 712 (another crappy tire, like the BFG G-Force Sport). The Tire Rack tested the ES100 and the 712 side by side. In all 23 out of the 23 characteristics they measured, the ES100 was better than the 712 - a clean sweep. The ES100 does everything better than the 712. Yet the 712 gets higher user survey results - because some people keep buying them, thinking that they're good without having tried other tires that are better.

ok with that being said. I personally have bought the azenis, the es100s and the g-sports and i liked all of them. i think that the g-sports are a great tire for $70. I really wouldnt call them crappy. when i hear of a crappy tire its usually referred to a nitto tire. but thats what ive heard.

For me, a tire is crappy if you can buy a tire that is better in every significant way for less money. By that definition, the BFG g-Force Sport is crappy. With the Kumho Ecsta SPT, you get traction and handling on dry pavement that are MUCH better than the BFG, traction and handling on wet pavement and rain that are MUCH better than the BFG (you should try them in rain, the SPT is awesome while the BFG is not), equal or better treadlife, at a significantly lower price (e.g. in 205/50-15, the SPT is $44 after rebate, whereas the BFG is $72). I don't know why anyone would buy a tire with worse performance for almost twice as much money.

because people sometime buy things because of the name. very common i see it every day at work....but i personally had experience with the origional parada and loved that tire compared to the avs es 100... but would definately agree that the g-force sport was definately not worth the money nor worth buying...was very terrible in wet weather and not a very good dry tire as well....

I don't. That's why I don't recommend the crappy BFG g-Force Sport or the equally crappy Yokohama Parada Spec - because of their performance. In the wet, and in the dry, the performance of the g-Force Sport and the Parada is just crappy, significantly worse than the Yoko ES100 and Kumho SPT. The Parada, in particular, is one of the worst performing tires in this segment, even worse than the BFG. Heck, when the Tire Rack tested them, on dry pavement the Parada couldn't even do as well as that old crappy Dunlop FM901! I think the only reason people buy the crappy Paradas is because they think the tread pattern looks cool.

In the past couple of years, the tire manufacturers have introduced quite a few very good tires in the "budget performance" category, tires that offer great bang for the buck. The really good ones include the Yokohama ES100, Kumho Ecsta SPT, Avon Tech M500, and Dunlop Direzza DZ101, and for a bit more money, the Bridgestone Potenza RE750 and BFG g-Force T/A KDW2. With so many good choices on the market, there's really no more reason to buy tires whose performance is so much worse, crappy tires like the g-Force Sport, Parada Spec, Dunlop FM901, Kumho Ecsta Supra 712, etc.
