Has anyone ever attempted to install gas lifts to their hoods or trunks? I'm not sure if thats the correct term for that. But bascially you wouldn't need that rod to hold up the hood.

 

They're called hood dampers. A bunch of companies have one...I haven't really bothered to look, so the one site/company I've actually seen is TEIN.

 

umm..incase you didnt notice, your trunk does have one. as far as the hood goes, tein mkaes one. im sure other people do too, i just dont know who

No, if he has the 97 in his sig, the 96/97 do not have the dampeners installed. The 94/95 accords do have it.

 

I do??? I need to check my car again, I don't recall seeing dampers in my trunk...hmm I'll check tomorrow.

 

Yeah, the 94 and 95 models should have them on the trunk, the 96/97 just have the latch and swingy arm things.
