any Etown Survival Series coverage from today?
kind of a shitty day all around, sucks they had to cancel brackets due to curfew. I only got 1 time trial run, and one bracket run after being there from 11-7:30
B3 was way too crowded.

wow why did they cancell was it b/c of all the oil downs? I broke something in my car second round of qualifying. I have 0 compression in number 2 and 3 cylinders.
eddie says the turbo tricks evo lost to pistons and rods down the track, and you know etown has to be not nosie after 8 or so
yeah but people wait all day for the finals thats all that was left!! you mean they couldnt spare two 10-11 second passes sheit

With all the breakage (myself included) it sounds like it really was a Survival Series. I am just glad I didn't oil down the track or cause any sort of delay.
Having said that this is the third event in a row I have been to E-town and been dissapointed with how it was run. Its a world class facility no doubt but they seem to be too greedy and just keep letting people in to race instead of capping the cars at a reasonable number. Granted they have no control over cars breaking or the weather but if they didn't pack the lanes to bursting capacity people would actually be able to get some runs in even with some delay's
I know at the last NHRA SC event my friend got in two runs in seven hours. At the supposed VW only Show-n-Go in addition to the vw race they had the 10.5 outlaw cars, bikes, test and tune, and no time all running - causing massive confusion in the pits for lots of people, a ton of cars driving through the pits (the 10.5 cars were pitted on the other side of the fence in the usual parking lot). This sunday I was there at 8:20 or so and teched, setup and ready to go well before the lanes opened up a little after 10. Even if I didn't break on my first pass at most I would have gotten another time trial in and then the first round of brackets and thats it. Not a great deal for $30. And while it sucks showing up late and getting no time shots in why should I be penalized for showing up early and being told I can only run once or twice because there were people who got there late and haven't gotten any runs in? It would be far simpler if people were turned away at the gate instead of having their money taken in and given a tech card only to be dissapointed. Even the guys teching cars were complaining about the gate workers having their heads up their asses after they had to turn away a bike that wanted to run and he got upset cause the gate told him he could run.
So what are they going to do about the finals? Make them up? Or just keep the payout money for their greedy selves?
Even though its my local track and a great track to race on
to E-town and how its been run lately.

Chad and I this year have been traveling a lot more. Since I am not fast enough to run heads up I only run bracket, well Chad runs heads up.
It seen like at etown you get 1 or 2 test runs, but at almost every other track I was able to get 7+ test runs before going to ones that count.
I do not if it is because of all the rotories at etown, but they just they always seem to oil down a lot.

you cant blame it on particular cars breaking, its part of the game. but it seemed quite a few people were breaking which delayed things horribly. but what pisses me off the most is that after paying $30 to race in brackets, our classes get cancelled and they get to keep our money. F that I want a rain check!!
did the puerto rican cars get to do any final runs? I left as soon as they cancelled brackets.

Thats what I am saying. This is the third event I have been to where racers didn't get the three runs the tech card allows you. I understand the noise curfew but give a refund or run the even at a later date. I ask again what is E-town going to do with the purse money for the events where the final round was cancelled?
It was an Ok event. Too many break downs but cant really blame it on nobody. I Seen way more hondas brake down then rotarys. Also none of the rotarys oiled down the track. It was mainly alot of the FWD guys. Hope the next one is better. The Rican guys where awsome.
Breakage is part of the game thats for sure - even more so at the end of the seaon when everyone's setup is tired and they are trying to get a P.B. before putting the car away for the winter. I have seen it year in year out at the end of the season events. The staff at E-town should have been aware of this and planned accordingly. Four lanes of B3 alone shows they were just letting people in long after the lanes were already full.
The cars from PR always put on a great show
Its too bad the local cars with no mufflers running 13's or launching and then coasting down the track after revving in the pits for 30 mins straight give rotaries a bad name. I love all cars but come on would it kill you to put a muffler on it and not rev the motor a 1000 times? Funny how the seven second rotaries are quieter than most of the slow ones.

yeah right, the amount of the rotarys and other ***** that broke down were the ones that caused most of the delay. the hondas that broke down were mostly axles which were pushed to the side and the races kept going. when one of the other cars broke down it would take like 30 minutes to clean up the track and all this ****.
