Default 525 in almost 5 years

Well after 5 years and 80000 miles i had to spend last week 525 bucks on my 01 civic ex. Their was something wrong with the brakes as they kept making screeching noises and while performing a vehicle check the dealer found out that the front engine mount was broken as well. The brake problem was going to cost 335 by an outside mechanic but i felt better by having my dealer do it ... only 25 bucks more... the enigne mount another 195.. plus my low beams had stopped working; the dealer said there was a recall on all 2001 civics regardless of their trim for the low beams as they stop working but high beams continue so if you have this problem you are in luck. Some post 2001 civics also fit this recall but i think there is a certain vin range they have to be in to qualify for the warranty work.

Okay you might be wondering what is the point? i don't know just felt like sharing this info about my car.

so your brakes were squeling and you had to pay 3oo something bucks. I am guessing you needed to replace your pads and that only cost me 100 bucks and thats using oem honda pads and the rotars were turned for me.

I'm guessing if he paid 300ish, they replaced his rotors. If not, then that's a lot to pay for pads.

For my local dealer, they wanted to charge me 500+ bucks to replace front rotors, front pads and adjust rear drum. I was like forget it so I ordered oem rotors and pads and went to a local garage...had it done for 60 bucks just for the labor.

^ Really though. I picked up some Hawk pads and Brembo blanks and had it done by a friend's family friend mechanic who only charged me labor.

Because you already had everything? What else could he have charged you for?

All I really needed was the pads and rotors. He didn't mention anything else.
