Default trany

i have a 91 civic with a d16z6 and i need a trany will a 89 trany work or is the shaft different
i know the 88 trany uses the small clutch and the shaft is different

yes the 89 will work as long as you get an 89 clutch.

clutches.
88--->21 spline, 200 mm
89--->20 spline, 200 mm
90 and up--->20 spline, 220 mm

or something like that. just make sure you have an 89 clutch.

ok so y can i not just use a 90-91 clutch with a 89 treany if they are the same 20 spline
