Default d15b VTEC-E CRX Si HF (limp mode)???????

So i got a CRX Si today... it has d15b printed on the block, it says VTEC-E on the valve cover, and seems to have an HF gauge cluster. It physically wont rev past about 3,300 RPMs....... what do i have here and is it in limp mode? And btw the previous owner said it still needs to be wired for VTEC as well, however he wired the OBDo chassis to OBD1 motor conversion.

sounds to me like you have a few problems here.

The p06 isn't for the vtec-e engine, which it sounds like you have. If you want a good daily driver (with awesome gas mileage), you're going to need a p07 ECU and also wire it up for a wideband o2 sensor and also wire up the vtec.

The fact is that you have the wrong computer for that car, unless it the previous owner put a vtec-e valve cover on a z6, which would be really weird.

Does it have a vtec solenoid?

It has 1 vtec solenoid.

Another question: is a d15b block and a p07-1 head a stock combination?

You're in limp mode alright. Have you checked for codes with your service connector?

Head Code:
P07-1 = D15Z1 (92 VX D15Z1 5sp)
from https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=786093

Overall sounds like your have a VTEC-E Mini-Me that needs a little love. Pull your codes to make sure you don't have any bad sensors etc.
