2005 LX Center Console Removal
I feel like such a newb asking this...
How do you remove the center console on a 2005 civic LX Auto trans?? I have a manual that I downloaded from 7th gen civic .com but it doesn't help me very much. It looks like a different console.
My wife spilled coke down in the auto shifter
and I need to clean it

There are a couple screws in between the seats near the rear floor pan that hold it down, 2 screws inside the armrest compartment, and 2 screws below the shifter plate.
After that, lift up the REAR of the console, and pull it torward the rear of the car.
The front of the console will disconnect itself from underneath the radio/dash assembly.
You can go here, https://www.hondapartsdeals.co...+3742, for the parts exploded diagrams and part #s in case you are like me and lose some screws or to just see where all the screws are.

Thank you very much for the info. I did not know of the 2 screws under the shifter plate or the 2 screws inside the console. The ones in the console must be hidden under the bottom lining, or are they the ones close to the lid hinge?
Also, do I pry the shift plate up to access the 2 screws beneath it?
Thanks!
Philip

I am not sure how to remove the shifter trim from around the shifter itself, but I own a manual... lol.
But yeah, you were right about the ones INSIDE the console lid. They are underneath the rubber trim liner they put in there. You will see them clear as day. You can't miss em.

Here is mine, but I am not sure how different it is than the automatic... but it will give you an idea.....
EDIT: there are 2 more: Look at the second photo, in each of the top corners that were covered by the shifter trim, you will see 2 more screws.... They need to come out as well.
Shift arm trim plate....

Trim plate removed, camera turned 90 degrees to the left.... You get the orientation though.

Up close of the screws under the shift plate.... still with me?

And then 2 more under here:
