Default crx b16 shut off and wont start, ignition?

hey guy this morning i started my car it was running about two mins to warm up some, i was about to leave to go to work i flipped my light switch from marker ligths being on to the headligth and marker light position, when doing so the temp guage instantly shot up to the top and the engine rpms dropped and shut off, then imediatly after the oil and brake lights come on, i tryed to trun the key to start it back up and nothing happens, no clicking noise no attemp to even turn over, i was wondering if anybody has had a similar problem?. would i be correct in thinking it could be my ignition in the column? if so how can i check to be sure?

CHECK YOUR MAIN FUSE BOX UNDER THE HOOD IF A FUSE IS BURNT OUT BECAUSE OF A WRONG CONNECTION IN YOUR MAIN FUSE BOX YOUR CAR WONT START UP FOR NOTHING. CHECK THE RED 50 WATT FUSES.

its your main relay, if it was your ignition you should still be able to turn it with the key in and start the car but you would have to hold the key in place to keep it started.

ok well where is my main relay located at? also i do got power going to the ignition, if i have the car door open and the battery connected the oil n battery ligths are very dime but are illuminated, once door is closed ligths go out, also i can not turn on headligths or anything..how do i test my main relay and is there something that cause it to go bad or does it just happen randomly?

NO it does not require another main relay the way you check if you relay is working or not. is by turning your ignition key you know like trying to start the car. but at the same time you should be able to here a click at the bottom of the hood latch where your relay is at. so you should be able to here a click sound out of the main relay. if theres no sound or click it meens your not getting current to your harness. also you say that your oil light and battery light are dime out. then its deffently an electrical problem i had the same problem as well with my crx gsr. my oil light and battery light where dimed. my problem was the starter wired the one you get the positive from or the one that goes from you starter to the battery. was not getting enough current from my fuse box. but i solved the problem by getting current from the battery all the way to the back. anyway my starter would not shout out and spin and also my oil light and battery light where low the rest where fine. i have a question does your starter shout out and spin????

so you test how much power was coming from your battery and it was 7.04 volts man you have a battery with out liquid any more check if its inflated from the sides your battery check it. it might be or it might be that you are getting crappy ground to your battery check your not gettin the ground from a place that has paint or something.

teh fuses are all good i disconnected the clicking in the door(was the seat belt sensor or somthing with the seat belt, and i moved on to finding there was a sha few sparks jumping off the headlight and marker light switch(eays to see whenin the dark), but i got the dome ligtht to come on brigth at first but then qucikly goes dim to a low dime flshing.. so its most likely somthing on that circuit? does anybody have problems with these switches?

hey i have a question man do your start should out and spin yes or no? and also when you turn your ignition key to turn on the car do the oil light and battery light go out completly like you cant see them and once you let go of the switch they come back yes or no? check for that and also check for how many volts you have going to your starter there should be 11.73 or something like that. also check how many volts is your fuse box getting under the hood. with your volt tester put it to a fuse on the fuse box and the ground get it from a bolt for your ground. it should say 12.2 or 11.32 is fine check it. if you dont have one of these volt testers go get one in ace hardware store they are really a problem solver it tells you have many volts your getting to everything.
