Vavle adjustment need help....
My vavles are on the loud side so I have decided to do adjust them please tell me what tools I need for the job, do I need a set of feeler guages and If I do what size the car Is a 1991 civic DX with a DOHC ZC thanks for the help
Pretty straight forward, take off the valve cover and turn the crank to line up everything like described. Then take a nice set of feeler guages and go at it. Make sure the engine's cold, that's when I always do mine. I've heard that others set theirs at some specific temperature but I've always done it cold. You want a slight drag on the guage, not too tight, not too loose. Just make sure you're lining everything up and tighten things all down when you're done.
if you need more help, go to http://www.g1teg.org and then go to how to section. good step by step.
well lets start this off............I pulled a runner off when I was trying to tighten the bolt back so I had to loosen the cam to get it back in ok that went ok but when I was tighting it back I broke a bolt that holds the cam brace on and I broke a bolt that holds the cam shaft position sensor on, I guess the bolts where really old...............? and to top that off we didnt use the right marks we used a white dot on the cam gear but now I read that we have to use the UParrow mark so My car is brok and the vavles sound worse than ever not to mention My friend that was helping me had to leave so I cant work on my car anymore!
