Default Timing on a d16z6???

I have a d16z6 going into my ef. I have everything hooked up and when i started it, it was running like ****, so i noticed the timing was off. I align the cam gear to top where it should be. The crank pulley is about to go on but i don't know if i'm doing this right. When i put the crank pulley back on should the mark on the block line up with the 0btc mark on the crank pulley??? It seems that is the only way to get it on? I thought it was supposed to look like this???

what am i doing wrong, please help asap, i'm trying to get this thing running today!!!

I found the easiest way when I replaced my oil pump was to use the pointer on the the crank sprocket and align it with the pointer on the oil pump housing. Obviously the timing belt would have to be taken off of the cam so that you can adjust cam timing separately from crank timing. Just a thought.

And to answer your question, yes. The single mark on the crank pulley should line up with the mark on the block.

Yes. The Single mark 0 BTC should be set to the pointer, when the car is running, service connector jumped, it should 16 BTC.

There should be an "up" stamp on your cam. Put this in the up position and the head will be at TDC. Then put the timing belt back on while keeping the crank pulley stationary. It is a lot easier with the help of someone else.
