Ok soo, I got into a accident(old lady at fault). Well, im sure im gettin bout $1,000. I need bumper + painting it, new hood(might get carbon fiber, oem style), JDM 1 pieces, 92-93 bumper(fit my an intercooler better, goin turbo soon, and imma need a new fender + painting it.
How much cash should that be.
Also, I've never gotten in a accident b4 this, and don't know how the whole getting insurance money goes. Do, they send me a check and I pick what I want to do with the money. Or, the insurance company forces you to fix what is broke. From the accident. Id really like it to be I chose what to do with the money.
Thanks for any help.

insurance cuts you a check and your free to do whatever you desire with it
. as for everything you want to do, might set you back around 400-500 bucks. let us know how it goes.

Not always, I have been hit a few times and have always gotten a check to do whatever I please. However my dad was recently rear-ended and thought that he could finally pay one of his bills off. After dealing with the insurance company he found out that that particular company pays the bodyshop with the lowest estimate and then you take your car there and get it fixed. So it's not always so cut and dry.

I have been in a lot of accidents. Here is my experience. It may help you.
Usually insurance companies want to pay as little as possible. So they will have you take your car to one of their autorized agents/body shops. An insurance adjuster will come out and take a look at the accident. they are supposed to determine what is from the accident and what is not. then they estimate how much it will cost to fix it. Then you will have to have it done at that body shop. they will not go for JDM front ends or anything that is NOT on your car.
If you have a body shop that you know well can write on paper OEM parts. but get other stuff. You also have to demand NEW!!!! parts never Used parts. they are paying for it. You can possibly talk to the body shop and the adjuster and then ask for a check. I have never done that myself. but it is possible.

A friend of mine got into a good accident with his truck, basically detroyed the front end. He went to the body shop and talked to the manager. The manager let him pay the difference between the OEM parts and the aftermarket parts he wanted. He ended up paying about $200 to get a full aftermarket front end.
