Default DOHC ZC Running rich in 91 SI

I swapped a Dohc ZC motor into my 91 civic SI and put a 4-2-1 header (w/O2 sensor) and short ram intake. It seems like I am lucky to get 22mpg and it always smells rich (can smell light gas smell) after I park. My spark plugs indicate this too. I am running the stock si ecu - and have heard that i need to get it remapped / upgraded. I live in Utah and my avg compression per cylinder is approx 135 - 140 psi. Any suggestions?

Get an ECU from an 88-89 Integra with a 5 speed, PM7. I got 34 MPG with my ZC running that ECU.

x2, or try to snag a PG7, I think those PM7's are kinda hard to find nowadays (at least up near me). I also had the same problem, turned out to be a shitty aftermarket O2 sensor. If you didn't get a quality brand (Bosch or OEM), you may want to consider changing it. Or maybe she just needs a tuneup .

i have a pm7 if you want to buy it. it is the actuall ecu for the dohc zc
pg7 is the 88-89 integra ecu and pm7 is the dohc zc ecu
the si ecu is making it not run very well

More news, I just had my emissions checked for re registering my car and my CO failed on both (over 2.0 ppm) and HC was proportionally higher that 220 ppm also on both Idle test and high speed test (approx 2500 rpm)

With that being said - will a zc ecu (pm7?) or 88-89 integra actually lean out the fuel ratio to get it to run closer to stoich? Please Help

It would probably be cheaper to chip the PM6 with a PM7 code. Its not hard, plus you can add datalogging while your at it. PM me if you want more details.

Swap in the PM6. That will make it run much better than the PG7. Or get the PG7 chipped and take the car to get dyno tuned. That will work better than any thing else.

For tuning, you can use BRE.
