how do u clean the throttle body?
buy a can of CARB CLEANER and with the car running spray it, a little at a time, at the gunk. Give the car some gas while cleaning it to help get the junk flowing out through your engine... you don't want it to just sit in your itm runners until later...
Pick up a can of THROTTLE BODY CLEANER. Pick up the one that saids for throttle body or air-fuel injection clear. Some of the throttle body cleaner come in a carb/throttle bottle cleaner can. Do not pick up one that saids just carb cleaner.
Bascially easiest way to do it is to put a heavy object on the gas pedal (or have someone step on it) to open up the inside of the throttle body. Remember to disattach the air box first. And then spray all around the inside of the throttle body (liberally). Then reattach and start engine. The car might hesitate before starting but it's no biggy.
I did it both on my gf's accord and my Integra and didn't not notice a serve hesistation or anything like what other said would happen. Just a slight hesitation and it started. I guess it depends on your car and it's condition.............

I would discourage the rock on the gas pedal when it's soo easy to hold it open with the throttle rotor on the tb. just do it with your hand. and do it with the engine running... don't do it with the engine off. i don't know if this is proven, but it seems that if you had the carb cleaner flowing through your engine's internals in lesser concentrations it would be safer for the engine's well-being. I don't know how true or false that is, but it give me peace of mind knowing that it's going through the engine a little bit at a time as opposed to a huge rush of carb cleaner when you turn the key.
