I got a $86 ticket for not having a front license plate.
Read the title, what's the best way that I should go about this? I don't want to pay the entire $86. Anybody have experience w/ this in WA state? Do I have to go appeal it or can I just show up @ the municipal courthouse and show them that I have my plate back on.
thanks.
thanks.
Why not read the ticket? I'm sure it has instructions on what to do (in English) right on it.
Also, why run with no front plate if it's illegal? These are the kinds of things I don't understand from people.

Who said anything about pleasing the ladies? I'm talking about pleasing myself...to me the front license plate throws off the look of th car.
i know when i got a front plate ticket, i put one on, went to local po-po station, had them write that they saw my vehicle with it on there, and i sent it in along with the ticket. All taken care of ;]
In California, the fine is stiff at first, but if you get the ticket signed off at the CHP, or sheriff station, It ends up being only $10 bucks...The infamous "Fix it ticket".
if you don't feel like contesting it to get it dropped, then mitigate it. all you'd be doing is saying you did it, your sorry, and they lower the ticket price. i had a ticket go from $110 down to $35. which city did you get the ticket in? king county, state patrol, or city police?
I'm comfortable with the thought of just paying the ticket if I get it. Front plates on a civic look ugly IMO. If I get caught I'll just pay it. You got caught and you know you're wrong, so just pay it and go on.
Front License plates look ugly
I live in Texas, have had my car with no front license plate since August of 1997, and have been pulled over about a dozen times. I have been pulled over only once for not having a front license plate.
When I got pulled over, this is what I told the cop: "The front license plate is in the trunk. The reason I do not have it installed is because when I bought my car, it did not come with a front license plate bracket." He asked me to open the trunk and show him the license plate. I did. Then he told me to get the bracket as soon as possible and install the license plate. I agreed, and he wrote me a warning.
One time I got pulled over because of the expired state inspection sticker. The cop also noticed that I did not have a front license plate. I told him the same story as above, but he did not buy it. I got a ticket. Right before I went to the courthouse, I put the front license plate on my car, went to court, plead guilty, paid a fine of $10, and immediately took it back off. That was the only time when I had a front license plate on my car.
