Did i put my clutch in backwards?
Sorry i know this isn't a forced induction question, but you guys are the most knowledgable and my car is turbo anyways
Well i just swapped a new block in my car and everything seemed to go smooth. We started the car up and the engine sounded fine with the tranny in neutral and the clutch in. When i went to let out the clutch i heard the worst grinding sound coming from my tranny. I did a search and i found a similar topic where somebody mentioned the clutch possibly being in backwards. If so this sucks big time
Thats the only thing i can think of. Working on your car while tired isn't smart

not possible..the pressure plate will only bolt down if the disc is facing the right direction...maybe your throw out bearing fell off the clutch fork?
alright well we just pulled the tranny back off. Everything looks completely normal. This is really bugging me. Throwout bearing is on fine, clutch is on fine, everything is fine

Well we figured it out. The damn ball joint where the clutch fork goes into the tranny and has that spring there was messed up. The spring needed to be bent a little to tighten it up so it wouldn't pop off. Now its all back together and running fine

I might need to check this on my car..hmm. I hope I didn't buy a new tranny for nothing.
