Is the end of the axle nut dented in to the groove at the end of the axle spline? If the axle nut is "punched" it will make it harder or impossible to remove the nut. I would suggest trying an air impact guy with at least 500 ft/lbs of torque or use a really long (3 feet or more) pipe over the breaker bar to use as leverage.

Take a screw driver and hammer and undo the indented part of the axle nut (punched part). Make sure all the indented parts are undone and the nut is free to turn. Have someone step and hold the brakes whie you use a 32mm socket w/ a breaker bar and add a long *** metal pipe to the breaker bar. The longer the cheater pipe, the more torque you'll have to bust the nut. Good luck
air impact gun is suggested. I have a friend had the same situation last time, we tried to use long pipe(more than 3 ft. long) but the nut still stuck there. however he finally screw the nut out by using air impact gun.

AIR is the way to go i tried to take mine off yesterday with a 1/2 inch breaker bar and a extension and i fell off the breaker bar and dented my fender. Dammit!! but i called a buddie went over to his house 3 minutes later it was off impact !!!
i use a 1 1/4 inch socket and a 3/4 breaker bar with this nut. owrks just as welkl as the 32 mm. just have someone hold the brake pedal down. (doesnt work well if you need new brakes) but, i have never had a problem with doing it this way.. even when i forget to take that dent out and i rip the side of the nut
i just change mine a hour ago and figure by leaving the rim and tire on with no help i just use a flathead screwdriver to take out the punch in the axle nut then open the axle nut with the help of a cheater bar..... i had a hard time at first with somebody stepping on the brake then i just remove the cap off my rim to expose the axle nut and one pull on the cheater bar and the nut came loose...hope i made some sense and help you out...
