Bent Front Rear Subframe Cradle...
Car: 1997 Honda Prelude Type-SH Five-Speed
Well I bought my new Prelude from a kid who ran from the cops, ran off the road, hit a curb, and threw the front passenger suspension out of wack.
So, we replaced the control arms, and the wheel was still towed out, and moved back about an inch. The car is very difficult to drive, you have to hold the steering wheel to the left about 70degrees to keep the car on a straight path... Yeah, pretty bad.
So I took it to Honda, with a hopeful dream that an alignment MIGHT fix it (I knew in the back of my mind it wouldn't, just thought I'd try). I get a call today, being informed that my Front Rear Subframe Cradle is crushed, and the only way to straighten the front suspension back out, is to replace it. Other than that, everything looks good.
So, Honda quoted me $1,100 to replace it. However, my two buddies that work at Honda, quoted me half price, if they buy the part brand new. So if I can find the part used, or discounted, I can come out even better...
So my question is this, does anyone know of a good reputable Honda used parts yard that would be willing to find me this part? Or perhaps one of you might have one? Cash in hand, ready to go, I need to get this thing on the road!
Any advice/input is very welcome.
