Default K20A question

so an engine supplier has a JDM K20A he says is the same engine as the US Type-s. he said there is no base model i.e. Civic Si Kmotor from japan. can anyone confirm this because there is a complete engine for $1400 available.

the JDM motor is a K20A and the type S is a K20A2. and i dont know about the base model motor but i dont think they would have the slow motor in japan, when they have a type R K motor with a lot more power.

no the K20A2 has less power than the K20A. and the K20A tranny is also 10 times better than the A2. they are really different motors

The first gen DC5's in japan had 2 models: the integra IS and the type R. The IS was = to our Base, and the type R well you know that one. In 05+ they changed the name from the base IS to just the type S, but it still kept the base motor.

So for a wrap up...in japan....:

Late 01,02,03,04= Integra IS w/k20a3
05,06= Integra S w/k20a3
