anyone have any pointers for sanding?
well i bought an oem spoiler from someone. i currently have an ek CX model and as you might know the cx wings are a little short so i purchased a DX wing. its a little bit longer and its also metalic. i just purchased some filler primer and some trim paint. i just wanted to know if anyone had any pointers on sanding. like what grit to use.. i know you use a big one first then a finer one after that.. any suggestions?
ok... you have a stock already painted spoiler. i assume it has clearcoat on it. I would need to know if you were going to re clear it. if soo i would use 320 grit dry sandpaper. and then come back with like a 600 or 800 wet sand paper. do like 2 or 3 coats of base color then clear. wait like 4 min between base coats then when you clear wait about 10 between coats.

you can use 400 wet or dry spray as many coats of base as it takes to cover or match ur color, letting it flash between coast, about 5-10 mins. then spray ur clear about 2 coats letting it flash 8-20 mins between coats
ok so i just wet sanded and primered the spoiler.. its dry right now so do i wet sand again? i'm about to use 1000 grit.. and after that trim paint.. after i trim paint should i clear coat it too? my car is currently purple.. and i have black trim paint.. my current spoiler is black as well so i was just trying to make this spoiler look oem black.
yes after the primer is dry wet sand again with like 800 keeping the scratches not to deep. black is pretty easy to cover scratches with though. spray about 3 coats. yes i would clear because black will fade from sun aswell as when wasing the car
