hey guys...im just curious...with all those who have a JDM B16.... when u engage into ur V-TEC... can u hear that sucker scream? like a big difference or is the band smooth? i know i can FEEL the V-TEC but just cant hear it as much... can u guys share ur experience.... yea i know its a Noobie question...but i would like to hear more on this...

p.s. i know another person with a JDM B16 and his doesnt scream either...but u can hella feel the power tho...

If you replace all of the insides of your head with some ITR goodies, you will hear/feel it changeover for sure, just like he basically said ^.

 

you can clearly hear it. even all stock sir with a stock air box and stock exhaust you can hear it.

 

Is your intake mani all fouled up inside with deposits or something? I have seen some manifolds that are so gummed up that the ports on the mani were about halfway closed up lol

mine screams. peoplel ask what broke when vtec kicks in. its quieter now that its turbo but i cant complain.

 

on my old rex i could hear it loud and clear.

 

go on the freeway, and slap that **** on 3rd gear till you hit vtec, you'll hear it scream

Vtec is the most overrated thing on this site. You do realize its for gas mileage and not the teenage f&f trend it has tried to become?

I got a good deal on a swapped CRX with a B16 and it does scream when it kicks in...but my turbo LS is louder when boost kicks in

jdm is crack for the ***. if i want jdm ill move to japan so i dont have to spend hundreds to make my car look like it came from tokyo. at that fact, i dont even like ody kits, let alone wings that look like cardboard.

So is that where JDM 3rd gear vtec came from? cause i swear when im at the track these guys swear it "hits" harder in 3rd gear cause its JDM ..

It's just a joke, anyone who honestly says that ... step away for soon they will explode from there ego!

Yes 3rd gear vtec is a joke from what I understand its often the gear car is fully able to track so it feels its pulls hardest plus you already are moving, so to people who don't quite understand cars it feels strongest when mathmaticly we all know traction allowing first has to be.

to put something boarderlineing worth tech in this thread. I have CTR cams and you KNOW when you X over, being its more agressive rates on both sets of lobes.

Still pretty smooth but you sure hear it.
