Which k20 is the better motor? like k20a2,a3, etc...

 

k20z3 or z1. i forgot which comes on 05-06 dc5-s's.

 

The K20Z3 is in the FG2 Si's.

The K20Z1 is in the 04-06(?) RSX-S.

 

k20a is the JDM motor
k20a2 is the USDM motor for the 02-04 type s
k20a3 is the USDM dc5 baseline and the ep3
k20z1 is the USDM motor for the 05-06 type s
k20z3 is the USDM motor for the 06(not sure of the starting year) NEW si

best one that comes stock in the US is the k20a2/z1...but the best one overall is the k20a...

...correct me if im wrong

 

Engine and tranny or just engine. I like the K20A because it comes with factory LSD and all the Type R goodies.

the k20a motor has the most whp and tq. it also has the best tranny of the bunch. it comes in the JDM ITR DC5.

 

hrmm im thinking im going with a k20a for next years new build time to get rid of the boost and go for all motor

good choice. i think it puts out roughly 190 whp stock. with a few modifications it should haul pretty good especially in a hatch.

 

the K20A has very good response to bolt-ons. so throw on some bolt ons and tune it and it will be dominating the streets. and like everyone said the tranny is superb.
