Default Omni rear upper contral arm install question...

Okay so I got my Omni rear UCA's today. The two "bearings" have the shaft for the UCA extending from an edge of the bearing (kinda like looking at ribbon assembled in a cassette tape: O_O ). Which way are the UCA's supposed to be installed? With the shaft at the bottom of the bearings? At the top? At the bottom on one side, at the top on the other? Here's a link to an image, hopefully you guys know what I'm talking about:

The reason I asked is because I couldn't get the arm to go in, stuff didn't line up totally, or I wasn't using enough force... either way, it was too much of a bitch to get the UCA in.
