lowered the car
well.. i finished up my suspension today. I have Koni Yellows in front and Tokico Whites in back with SKunk 2 coilovers all the way around. What i dont understand is that the rear is lower than the front but the rear still has more travel than the front. THe front is about stock height right now and the rear is dropped maybe an inch, does anyone know why the front has less travel than the rear? thank you in advance.
well... i had tokico whites in the front about 2 months ago, i had set them on full stiff and it was A LITTTLE stiffer than the Tokico blues i had on. I took them off and exchanged them for the koni yellows. I Also have them on the lowest perch on the konis right now. I know that the skunk2 coilovers are adjustable, but i do not want thte shock resting on the bump stop.
like i said... i dont want the shock to be resting on the bump stop.. i wouldn't have any travel and the life of the shock will dramatically go down.
do you have the spring collar upside down on the Koni's?
If not then trim the bump's about an inch, and lower the car with the coilovers about an inch, and you'll be done. Usually if the rear has less damping then it will travel more on the same bump. That could be the difference in the travel.

I do not have the spring collar upside down on the konis, i actually tried trimming the bump stops already, i cut about an inch from the bottom of it. i actually have the the rears stiffer right now, it is set on 3 with the tokico whites, and the front is on full soft with the konis. The ride is pretty comfortable but i do not like driving the car so high, it feels like a boat! lol
THanks for all the replies guys.

seems to me the best way to fix you situation is to just get a matching set of shocks. Most coilover setups for preludes and most other cars have a wider height adjustment than the front. look at coilover sets onlien and look at the max drop front and rear, rear always has more travel. just go to shox.com or something and buy matching shocks, whatever brand you liek better, betwene the 2 you already have
