Default 01 Automatic slips in 3rd

I just replacd the automatic transmission in my 01 Civic. The new one had 27000 miles on it and came with a 60 day warranty. When I first got the trans installed in the car, the 3-4 shift would hesitate somewhat. The RPM's would jump slightly, then it would shift. I replaced the shift solenoids, because those were off of the old transmission.
Well now, it jerks into 3rd and then 4th doesn't engage at all. Is this definitly a bad transmission, or is there something else I should look at? Thanks

This was happening with mine and the dealer changed the ATF fluid. They said when they did the change the fluid looked dirtier than it should for how many miles were on the car (can't remember). This fixed the problem but it is starting to do the slip thing every now and then. Time for some new fluid I guess.

I'm guessing that since yours was just replaced, it would have new ATF fluid but sometimes you never know.

Ya, I have flushed the ATF with Honda fluid. I just drove it, and it drives fine when it is cold, but when it warms up it starts shifting rough into 3rd. It didn't slip totaly on me this time, but it was shifting hard.......

coming for someone who works on these all day every day.. if the car has no stored codes and trans feels like ****, your going to need a new trans, there def are alot out there that got some problems, if the car has under 100 k honda should cover it under a goodwill or warranty extension through honda
