b16 head

Default b16 head

okay so i took apart my head in an attempt to remove the head from the block and i got 4 of the 10 screws off.....welllll it appears that the guy that had the motor b4 me stripped out the bolts and now i cant take off those last 6 does anyone know how i would go about removing those last 6 bolts???? i need them out asap cuz sum1 wants to buy my head for 350

well if the bolts are stipped your head isnt worth 350 bucks, it might be the threads in the head? or are the just stuck, have you tried to use a cheater bar to get them out, the only way i know to get a stripped screw out is to drill it out...

no the head is perfectly fine its just the head of the bolts that are stripped out i have extra bolts for heads so if i can get those last 6 off i would just give him the head with 6 different bolts rather then the stripped bolts

Sears (and most autoparts stores now) has a set of socket looking things that will grip on to the stripped heads. I think they are called 'bolt out' at sears. Get the cheaper generic ones though.

man this is a tough one. YOu could tap into the stock head bolts with a die set and then turn them out by drilling a slightly smaller screw. Just a suggestion.
