Default whats better

i always get confused what i wanted to know is that does it really make a diffrence between cold air intake and the one that just sits on top like does the cold air one really help out or the other one is better than the cold air i mean does one give less power than other or they are the same

long or short reply?

It's a very long debate and some stuff is simple math and common sence, while other stuff takes number crunching like all hell to figure out.

well it is true that colder air has more oxygen in it makeing for a bigger explosion in your cylinders so i would go with cold air but there are debates that short ram is capable of producing more power. So its up to you but like i said i would go wih the cold air.

Just make sure if you go cold air that you use a bypass valve and you put the plastic covers back under the car ie: fender liner and lower liner. I had a ricer come in the shop the other day, 99 GSR Integra. NICE car, few too many vtec stickers and the "type R" but anyways, he had an AEM CAI and never put liners back on, and didnt use a bypass valve and he sucked some water up, and #3 Piston/Rod/Sleeve didn't like that. It's was ok for him, because his parents paid for the repairs. so $4300.00 later he rolled out with fresh bottom end, new oem liners, and bypass valve!

I've always run cold airs, w/o bypass valves, and I've never had a problem.

From what I have read you get a equivalence of 1 hp from 10 degree drop in the intake temp

the more filter area the less work the engine needs to do to suck in air...

does it make any difference.. probably not..

The colder the air the more condensed it is, the more condensed it is, the more FITS in.
