from what i understand, they arent customizable, arent easy to access and just arent good for performance. DPFI would be better.

if you want performance carbs, get real performance carbs.

there are plenty of things you can do to the dual carb setup to make it better, and dual carb is definetely better than DPFI... check this out:

+1 I still would say to stray this on a daily.

Carbs suck, but then again so do d series motors, so it might be a good match. LOL!

Edit: I shouldn't dis the D. It's what started my CRX obsession, but they do suck compared to todays motors.

at the risk of thread jacking, i dont see how the 1.5 vtec in the Fit is any better than the good ole d16A6, 20 years older.

Ever heard of a K20 Tyson? I just really am not a fan of carbs, by any stretch of the imagination. It is outdated caveman technology.

hey man, im not making a case for carbs. i couldnt care less for them. hated them on my 280Z (wtf, rubber hose FUEL lines above the exhaust manifold??? no wonder these things burn down often!) and didnt enjoy rejetting my NT650 Hawk and trying to keep track of how many turns i screwed it out... then having to put it all back together again...

im saying the d16a6 as it came with MPFI is as good as the current L series, 20 years later. if you want to compare apples to apples, compare the B to the K. but hey, thats another thread....

Agreed the A6 was a great motor for the time, and paved the way for the new technology. Progreession has made better motors. I agree with you apples to oranges statement, but an a6, and a fit, is still that. The fit, would be more like the HF motor. L series is fuel economy, junk. The A6 equivalent would be more like the R18A1, which is better than the A6, but still sucks, IMHO. Lets not get anymore OT here.

screw OT.

im not an engine guy, i really dont care anyway.

but i compare the fit to the 4gen civic because i think they are in the same economic class. the civic in general has moved significantly upclass.

HF is to be compared directly to the insight. theres no argument in performance and technology there...

the versatility of the d series (hf to dohc) is a testament in itself to its greatness.

anyway, whatever. this OT isnt all that more interesting than carbs on a crx anyway.

Glad I helped inspire you, em Dot!

Oh and SIred91. I am a hater. I hate allot of stuff. I hate carbs for a good reason, I've delt with enough of them in the past. BTW you know how I hate drag racing, well I drag raced this weekend, and I still hate it. I ran a 12.9 though.
