Default Oil In cylinder One

So about a year ago I installed some valves, spring retainers and also took a layer out of my hea gaskekt. yesterday I go in to change my plugs and plug 1 is very oily....shall I assume its the headgasket? the engine runs very well with no additional engine noise....

thoughts?

Depends on where the oil is. If the oil is up around where the plug wire connects to the spark plug instead of down where the electrode is, then you have tube seals that need replacing which is an easy fix.

If the oil is down at the electrode, then you must do further diagnosis to pin point the problem. If it is at the electrode, you should be noticing smoke coming out of the tailpipe. Is this the case?

The same thing is happening to me. The oil is up by the thread, not on the actual electrode. I thinks it needs new valve sleeves, if that's what you mean by "tubes"

good luck in fixing it.

One, it's either your valve sleeve, or your valve seal. Most likely is can be your valve seal, because if that is weak or messed up, then oil will drip from the the top to the bottom into your cylinder head.

My .02pennies,

Get a better diagnosis.

Good luck
