Mugen Airbox for ATR
I have an Accord Type R, 2.2 litre (european type) that is "looking" for a Mugen Airbox. Does anybody know where I can get one? Does anybody here have any experince with turbos for this car?

I dont know about the Mugen Airbox, other than being a severe waste of money. But I believe the engine that comes in that is an F-series...? Or is it the H22?

Maybe a better place for this topic would be the forced induction forum?
Yes, people have had experience with turbos for that car.
I don't know how many or how good their experience one, but that's why I drive a civic.
I'm sure you didn't google "mugen airbox" did ya? That'd be too easy.

OG poster, why didn't you post this question in the Accord forum?
The Accord Type R was produced from 1999-2002 and came with an H22A engine for the record. I still wonder why some people find quantity more important then quality.
You might still be able to find a Mugen intake for it, however Mugen likes to stay current, so the turn over rate on parts is usually only a couple years. They are more then likely working with the CL series Euro R Accords (TSX) now. The Mugen intake is a proven piece. Quality materials and expertise craftsmanship are not cheap by any means.

Hm, do you mean to say that the quality of the ATR engine is inferior? If, so, that is quite and achievement. I find the engine marvellous, also compared to my previous Hondas. But, apart from that, I agree with your statements on the Mugen bos. Quality costs. Hopefully I will be able to find one. My oldest son, nickname Strepto, has been dealing in Honda material for some years from american dealers. He is als lookning for me.
And for record; I have googled for Mugen, but I know that some parts are often sold solely through different forums, and somebody have heard that a guy had heard about someone who knew someone that....

Sorry. I should not have grouped that last thing together.
I was merely talking about people who like to just make posts for quantity to raise their post count, having no idea if the false info spewing from there keyboard is correct or not.
The H22A found in the Euro R as well as the car in general seems to be a wonderful creation on paper. Of course we would never really know over here stateside.

H22 in the ATR is really just an H22A7 with a different transmission then than Prelude SH

Maybe try King Motorsports Unlimited, Inc., I didn't see one for the Accord on their site but you could try and contact them and they may be able to give you more info on how to get one for that car.
Thanks everybody, I will look into the different ideas and come back with some feedback in the thread, when there is some progress. Hopefully I will be able to lay my hands on one, maybe secondhand. I know they are tough to get by. This beauty will raise power with 23HP. Thats quite ok.
